How to reach

By Flight

The closest airport to the Valley of Flowers is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 284 km away.
Steps to reach by flight:

  • Take a flight to Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) from major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore.
  • From the airport, hire a taxi or board a bus to Govindghat (8-10 hours drive).
  • Proceed to Pulna by road and then trek as mentioned above.

By Train

The nearest railway station to the Valley of Flowers is Rishikesh Railway Station, located approximately 272 km away. From Rishikesh, you will need to travel by road to reach Govindghat, the base point for the trek to the valley.
Steps to reach by train:

  • Board a train to Rishikesh from major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, or Kolkata.
  • Upon arrival at Rishikesh, hire a taxi or take a bus to Govindghat (approximately 10-12 hours).
  • From Govindghat, take a short drive to Pulna village, from where a 13 km trek begins to Ghangaria.
    Another 4 km trek from Ghangaria will take you to the Valley of Flowers

By Road

Govindghat, the gateway to the Valley of Flowers, is well-connected by road to Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun.
Steps to reach by road:

  • Travel by bus or taxi from Delhi/Haridwar/Rishikesh to Govindghat (around 10-12 hours from Rishikesh).
  • Alternatively, hire a private cab or self-drive along NH7, which offers scenic mountain views.
  • Upon reaching Govindghat, take a local cab to Pulna and start the trek to Ghangaria and Valley of Flowers.
